Lesson

  • Have students build a structure and then give instructions to their partner to build the same structure. Spatial language is key to ensuring the accuracy of the structure building.
  • Once the partner’s structure is complete, take the barrier away.
  • Have the two students compare their structures and have a conversation about where the instructions may have been unclear.

Look Fors

  • Can children use spatial language to accurately describe their structure to another person?
  • Can children follow instructions to successfully build the desired structure?
