Teaching Peace in School: Peacebuilding Lessons Infused Into Curriculum Practice Teaching Peace in School Peacebuilding Lessons Infused Into Curriculum Practice Peacebuilding (including peacemaking) education cannot be primarily an add-on responsibility: these goals and practices can be threaded throughout the required expectations of academic curriculum, opening up many opportunities to strengthen both peacebuilding capabilities and inclusive academic success for students. This section includes examples, drawn from our research participants, of ways for teachers to engage students in learning and practicing key concepts, skills, and processes for peacemaking and peacebuilding, integrated with curriculum goals and pedagogical relationship practices. Also, follow the links to access resource documents, prepared by the research team, that summarize official curriculum requirements in each subject area that could strengthen (or, that could easily be addressed in ways that would strengthen) students’ capabilities for peacemaking and peacebuilding. Brief teaching examples, grouped by subject area, are followed by sample integrated lessons that combine peacebuilding education elements with multiple subject area learning goals.
