54th Annual Professional Development Conference, as EDAC members and delegates from across the country gather in person or virtually. Presentation entitled "Why ECE is an EDO's BFF in 2022 and Beyond" by Dr. Emis Akbari, Senior Policy Fellow at Atkinson Centre for Society and Child Development.

Play-based Early Childhood Education is ideal for children under 6, but there is a shortage of trained educators in Canada. Low wages, poor working conditions, and lack of respect lead to high turnover and discourage new recruits. This year the theme of our Summer Institute is, The Early Years: In, About, and For the Environment. The event will focus on the effects of climate change on the early years, and how we can incorporate environmental responsibility into the early years to support young children towards climate responsibility and action.
