The Pathways to and through Education and Work (PEW) research team studies pathways within and between colleges and universities, and between post-secondary education and the labour market. PEW research projects are active in Canada, and internationally.
Over the past three decades, the field of post-secondary education has accelerated in scale, reach and complexity. Student populations are larger, more diverse, more mobile, and increasingly internationalized. These conditions have made pathways a critical research area. The PEW team examines the many aspects of education and education-to-work pathways, including post-secondary education policy, credit transfer, relationships between sending and receiving institutions, and emerging models of institutional and jurisdictional collaboration.
PEW researchers use and promote social justice frameworks when they explore the implications of pathways for qualifications, labour market access, students, teachers, and institutional identities.
