The Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study Laboratory School (JICS Lab School) welcomes applications from all interested families residing in the City of Toronto. Children come to the Laboratory School from across Toronto and are admitted through a waitlist process. The preliminary application form and our admissions policies will assist you in indicating your interest in joining our school community.

After submitting your online application, you will receive an email acknowledgment that your application has been received by the Laboratory School.

It is policy at JICS Laboratory School to admit children to the Nursery without screening in the order in which their applications are submitted and to fill Junior Kindergarten – Grade 6 attrition spaces so as to retain balanced classes.
We cannot consider special requests.

Student teachers work alongside experienced mentor teachers at the JICS Laboratory School. Our student teachers are graduate students who are selected for their academic, personal, and professional experience with young children. They make valuable contributions to children’s learning.
Parents are asked for annual permission for each child’s involvement. Parents or children may decline particular studies. JICS Laboratory School families know they are choosing a research-based school experience when they choose the JICS Laboratory School.
The JICS Laboratory School accepts applications anytime after the child is born.
