Starting January 2015, Ontario is implementing a wage increase of $1 per hour for eligible child care workers in the licensed child care sector. Another wage increase is set for next year.

The proposed regulations would come into effect when the legislation is proclaimed, and would address four priority areas: licensing clarity, enforcement, licensing standards and special needs. It also represents an important component of the government’s commitment to community hubs."

Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, comes into effect.
