Biography
Pamela is a PhD candidate in the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning (CTL) at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE). She holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics for Teachers from the University of Waterloo along with Bachelor’s degrees in Science and Education. Prior to joining OISE she worked in educational program development and management for 13 years including overseeing and developing outreach programs for the Department of Mathematics and curriculum development for the Engineering Outreach Office, both at the University of Toronto.
Her research interests are in the fields of mathematics and education, with a specific focus on math anxiety in girls and on helping pre-service, elementary level, female teachers learn how they can pass on their anxiety to their female students. She also has a strong interest in how to utilize technology to address math anxiety in pre-service teachers and their students. Her passion lies in bringing inspirational mathematics content to youth and adults alike to show them the fascinating world around them in a whole new way!
