Biography

Nidhi is a doctoral student in the Languages and Literacies Education Program in the Curriculum Teaching and Learning Department at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. She began her teaching career in 2004 after completing a German Teacher Training Program from the Goethe-Institut, Munich. After teaching German in Delhi for five years, she moved to Toronto and completed an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from York University. Her research interest in technology and Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) led her to study students’ perceptions of Moodle in a university level ESL/EAP classroom for her M.A. Major Research Paper. In addition to teaching German at the Goethe-Institut, Nidhi has been teaching university level Hindi and EAP courses in Toronto.

Her current research interests include Digital Technology and Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL). During her PhD at OISE, Nidhi intends to explore the area of unstructured and unplanned learning happening as a result of omnipresent portable/mobile devices and how it impacts the learning experience, specifically in the context of Second Language Education.
