Antoine Despres-Bedward
Biography
Antoine earned his PhD from the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. He received his Hon. B. Sc. degree in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa in 2009. His love for coaching and teaching in both the public and private sectors encouraged him to pursue his Master’s degree in Education at Athabasca University. Under the supervision of Prof. Tom Jones, he conducted a comparison study of the level of student satisfaction with the support received in face to face versus online undergraduate courses.
In September 2015, he began his doctorate degree studying online learning environments. He is a member of the Pepper team and the Engineering Education collaborative program. His research explores how the design of large scale online learning environments can support learners. His professional portfolio includes instructional design in areas such as educational technology, indigenous studies, mental health, political science, human resources, earth science and aerospace engineering.
