Biography

Andrea is a third year PhD student in the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto. She has completed degrees in English and Political Science (Honours B.A.) at University of Toronto, Library & Information Science (M.S.), and Educational Technology (M.A). She has worked in higher education since 2010 as both an User Education/Instruction Librarian, as well as Instructional Designer at Cornell University, Harvard Medical School, and University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. Her research interests are computer-supportive collaborative learning, including the ability to scope and drive the use of metrics, learning analytics, measuring high-order learning, chat-mediated learning, and cognitive assistants in digital mediated environments, drawing on theories of behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism.
