Susan’s research interests are in post-secondary program access and retention, SoTL in STEM and professionalization within student affairs. As co-chair, she is looking forward to bringing you an unforgettable conference!

PhD student in Higher Education with specialization in Educational Policy, 1st year 

Christina’s (she/her) interests lie within higher education, access, retention, and demographic data collection. She is excited to be working with the current co-chair team and other members involved in supporting this year’s GSRC conference!

Joanne Lieu

Joanne Lieu

PhD student in Educational Leadership & Policy, 3rd year

Joanne’s (she/her) research interest lies within higher education, seeking to understand the experiences of student caregiving older adults. She is thrilled to be supporting this year’s conference as co-chair!

Linda Hu

Linda Hu

MEd student in Educational Leadership & Policy, 1st year

Linda (she/her) is a full-time teacher at an independent school in Toronto alongside being a M.Ed student. Currently, she is a member of the admissions team and will be teaching science and civics next semester. Her passion and research interests are in examining how diversity, equity, and inclusion can be achieved within the independent school system. She is excited learn from the GSRC this year!

Gayatri Thakor

MEd student in Social Justice Education, 1st year 

Gayatri’s (she/her) research interests are in decolonizing education through indigenous pedagogies, non-western epistemologies, and holistic healing practices. She is excited to be working with the team and supporting this year’s GSRC conference!

Cynthia Eden

PhD-flex student in Higher Education, 3rd year

Cynthia Eden is a PhD student in Higher Education with specializations in Comparative International Development and Education, and Educational Policy. Her research interests lie within faculty internationalization practice, international student equity, internationalization in higher education, and ethics of care.

MA student in School and Clinical Child Psychology, 1st year

Rya’s (she/her) interests lie in student mental health, seeking to understand the experiences of marginalized students. She is excited to be supporting this year’s GSRC conference team!

Victoria Parlatore

Victoria Parlatore

PhD student in Higher Education, 1st year

Victoria (she/her) is interested in investigating experiences in education from the student perspective and understanding more about what supports students need to succeed in balancing their personal, academic, and professional lives. She hopes the GSRC can provide a supportive avenue for students to share their work, build connections, and learn more about the research happening at OISE.

Kelly Zhang

Kelly Zian Zhang

PhD student in Curriculum & Pedagogy, 1st year

Kelly’s research interests are educational technology and holistic education. Currently, she also serves as External Coordinator at CTL Student Association, Graduate Student at OISE Council & Research Committee, Executive Committee Member of Alumni Liaison Department at Chinese Students and Scholars Association of University of Toronto. She believes that her varied background in administration, in combination with her experience as an educator will be of benefit to performing duties to the Communications sub-committee for GSRC Conference. 

Jacob Li

Jacob Li

Conference Webmaster

Jacob (he/him) is a University of Toronto student studying Economics, Mathematics, and Urban Studies. He has worked on several web design projects in the past and has experience with WordPress, HTML, and CSS. As webmaster, he hopes to support the creation of an easy-to-use and accessible virtual environment for the 2022 GSRC!
