Bruce Russell

Bruce is interested in the disciplinary literacy development of post-secondary multilingual students beginning with language assessment and continuing with post-assessment language support. Bruce has been Director, Academic, of the International Foundation Program, a language program for conditionally enrolled undergraduate students, at New College, University of Toronto since 2009. The program follows a content language integrated learning (CLIL) model which provides extensive scaffolding of language and academic skills. At the Michener Institute of Education at University Health Network (UHN) in Toronto, he administers the Michener English Language Assessment (MELA), a health specific language assessment used for program admission and professional certification.
