From the website: "Putting Toronto in Perspective: Indigenous peoples have a long connection to Toronto that was established well before the arrival of Europeans. Through various morning activities, students investigate aspects of interactions among and between the Mississauga, French and British in the early 1600s from various perspectives (Strands A2, A3). Students then theorize the consequences of these interactions and analyze the positive and negative impacts (Strand A1).
The afternoon explores the connection between early interactions and present-day issues in Ontario through a hands-on activity that focuses on the distribution of land and the decision-making process with reference to the recently resolved Toronto Purchase land claim."
