This collection of essays is, once again, evidence of the vigour
and variety that characterizes the work of the young Canadianist
scholars across Europe. The European Seminar in Canadian Studies has
been meeting now since the early 1990s, – although this is the 8th
volume in our series of publications, the seminar in St Petersburg was
the sixteenth event in the series, – and offers, each year, the opportunity
for approximately twenty-five young scholars from universities across
the continent to come together and present their work.
