Dean & Professor Glen Jones addresses the importance of placing the focus of increasing participation as a core policy objective for all of Canada. Referring to the results of the Statistics Canada’s report, “Postsecondary Enrolment by Parental Income: Recent National and Provincial Trends”, Jones highlights the disparity between provinces, in postsecondary education pursuance by students from low-income families. Â In light of this report, Ontario’s new integrated student funding system has been receiving attention as a potential future model for other provinces.
