Cancellation Notice:

In light of the growing concerns with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic we regret to inform you that the March 24th presentation, The Landscape of Early Childhood Education in Nova Scotia, has been cancelled.

We hope to be able to reschedule this event later in the year. Please stay tuned for more information.

In less than 10 years, Nova Scotia's early childhood education and care (ECEC) landscape has transformed from a mainly licensed child care focus to include universal Pre-primary for 4-year-olds. While the Pre-primary Program has been rolling out across the province over the past four years, some key initiatives have been underway to support all aspects of ECEC as well as the ECE workforce. Participants will be provided with an overview of the journey to universal Pre-primary, how initiatives such as the Early Learning Curriculum Framework, Quality Matters and the Pyramid Model are supporting quality and responsiveness across all ECEC settings, and efforts to support growth and practice in the ECE workforce.
