OISE Dean Glen Jones acknowledges announcement of Interim Dean Normand Labrie

Date:

Dear OISE Community,

As announced earlier today by the Provost, Professor Normand Labrie has been appointed as Interim Dean of OISE effective July 1, 2021.  I am delighted that he has agreed to take on this role.

Normand has been an exceptional colleague over many years but especially during my time as Dean. He has offered creative guidance and tireless support to our community in his current role as the Associate Dean Programs. His commitment to issues that are critical to OISE along with a comprehensive expertise and knowledge of the University of Toronto, as well as the provincial, national and international educational contexts is simply unparalleled.

As we continue to experience challenges associated with the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, I know that OISE faculty, staff, students and alumni will be served well with Professor Labrie guiding the institution. I will ensure an effective transition in the Office of the Dean and will continue to commit my time and energy to the Deanship through to June 30th, 2021.

In the meantime, please join me in welcoming Professor Normand Labrie to the role of OISE Interim Dean.

Glen A. Jones, Ph.D.
Professor and Dean
